This heirloom lima bean is known for being hardy and disease-resistant, and is loved for it's delicate, buttery flavor. Henderson lima's are great dried, or for canning and freezing. They are well known for their flat, smooth pod of 3 to 4 creamy white beans. Henderson lima's grow well in most soil conditions but do best in well-drained soils that maintains an average temperature. Soil that is waterlogged can be detrimental so avoid over watering. Henderson lima's are also known for their nitrogen fixing properties in soil.
